It’s School Prom season once again!
Last night it was fantastic to finally get back to hosting a riotous School Prom party, following the years of lockdown, etc.
At Channels barn in Chelmsford, the sixth-formers were celebrating the end of another chapter in their lives, and possibly the last of their schooling for those that weren’t heading to university in September. So it was quite an emotional night for some, although I’m sure the free flowing alcohol helped!
I began the evening with some new dance remixes and soon the cool kids were demanding drum n bass….but just standing there nodding their heads knowingly is no good to a DJ trying to fill the floor, so I opted to play a few old school disco tunes to loosen them up! Once they’d warmed up a bit, more requests came flooding in, possibly the most surprising being Murder On The Dancefloor by Sophie Ellis Bextor! The last 45 minutes just flew by, crammed with indie anthems and big singalong tunes, the crowd most definitely in full voice!
A welcome change from wedding receptions and birthday events, I really enjoyed it once again.
