I’m Ian Scott and I’ve been a professional DJ and event host for over 35 years, providing entertainment for everything from small private functions to major corporate events with hundreds of guests.

Whatever the occasion, my aim is pretty simple – great music, professional presentation and a busy dancefloor.

Every company event is different. You might be planning a relaxed summer party for 50 colleagues, a large Christmas celebration, an awards evening, a charity event or an end-of-conference party for several hundred guests.

I’ll work with you beforehand to make sure the entertainment fits your event, your venue and, most importantly, the people attending it.

Christmas Parties

I’ve hosted more Christmas parties than I care to count over the years, and they’re some of the most wonderful events in the diary!

Whether you’re booking a private room for 50 employees or organising a major company Christmas party for several hundred guests, I can tailor the sound, lighting and music accordingly.

Christmas parties also tend to bring together a huge mixture of ages and musical tastes. That’s exactly where experience counts.

I’m not going to spend the entire evening playing novelty Christmas records – unless that’s genuinely what you want! Instead, I’ll combine the best party music from across the decades with current favourites, requests from your guests and enough festive music to remind everyone that it is actually Christmas.

The result should be a proper party rather than an office disco.

Awards Nights, Presentations & Company Celebrations

A professional DJ can do considerably more than simply arrive after dinner and play music.

If your event includes speeches, presentations or awards, I can provide the appropriate PA and microphone equipment and help keep the evening running smoothly.

Walk-on music, award stings and specially edited pieces of music can all be prepared beforehand, while my experience as a compère means I’m equally comfortable making a simple announcement or taking a more active role in hosting the evening.

And when the formalities are finished, we can turn the room into a party!

Music That Works for Your Crowd

One of the biggest advantages of booking an experienced DJ is knowing when to stick to the plan – and when to throw it out of the window!

You’re very welcome to give me your favourite tracks, genres and essential requests beforehand as a guide. Just as importantly, tell me what you DON’T want to hear.

But once the party starts, I’ll use my experience to read the room and react to what’s actually happening on the dancefloor.

My music knowledge stretches from the 60s right through to today’s biggest tracks, with particular specialities including 70s and 80s disco, soul and Motown, 80s pop and dance music anthems.

No rigid playlists. No inappropriate music. And no DJ determined to make himself the centre of attention.

Quiz & DJ Combination Events

Want something different before the party starts?

I also operate QuizHire, my separate professional quiz entertainment business, providing fully-hosted quiz shows for corporate clients throughout the UK.

A corporate quiz followed by a DJ party can work particularly well for company celebrations, team events and Christmas parties. It gives everyone something to get involved with early in the evening before the tables are cleared and the dancing begins.

The two services can be combined to create a complete evening of entertainment, or booked separately depending on your event.

Professional Equipment – and Proper Back-Up

Corporate events aren’t the place for unreliable equipment or last-minute improvisation.

I use professional-quality sound, lighting and DJ equipment and can provide different systems depending on the size and requirements of your venue.

I also carry back-up equipment because, after more than 35 years in this business, I’ve learned that hoping nothing goes wrong isn’t quite the same thing as being prepared if it does!
