Your wedding reception is one of those occasions where you really don’t want to leave things to chance.

I’ve been a professional DJ for 36 years and, during that time, I’ve performed at more than 1,000 wedding receptions. From small, intimate celebrations to huge parties with several hundred guests, I’ve seen just about every type of wedding imaginable.

And I’ve learnt something important along the way.

Great wedding entertainment isn’t about having the biggest lighting rig, playing the loudest music or turning up with a van full of flashing things. It’s about understanding the occasion, knowing your audience and creating a party that feels like your wedding.

Most importantly, it’s about knowing you’re in safe hands.

Your Wedding, Your Music

Every wedding is different, and that’s exactly how it should be.

Before your wedding, we’ll talk about the music you love, the songs that mean something to you and anything you’d rather not hear. I’m always happy to take requests and suggestions, but I don’t believe you should have to spend weeks compiling a list of 150 songs for me to follow.

That’s what you’re employing me for.

A typical wedding dance floor might contain three or four generations of the same family, all with very different ideas about what constitutes a great record. Reading that dance floor and knowing when to change direction is a big part of the job.

There might be some Motown, disco and soul. There could be 80s and 90s classics, indie, R&B, dance, current chart music or something completely unexpected.

The important thing isn’t what I want to play.

It’s what works for you and your guests.

A Wedding DJ You Can Trust

After more than 1,000 wedding receptions over 36 years, there aren’t too many situations I haven’t encountered.

Weddings run late. Speeches overrun. Timings change. Guests make unexpected requests. Sometimes a dance floor fills instantly; sometimes it needs a little encouragement.

Experience means knowing how to deal with all of that calmly and professionally without bothering you with problems you really shouldn’t have to worry about on your wedding day.

I’ll discuss everything with you beforehand, arrive properly prepared and work alongside your venue and other suppliers where necessary.

More Than Just an Evening Wedding DJ

For many couples, I’ll arrive later in the day and provide the entertainment for the evening wedding reception.

But if you’d like me involved earlier, I can provide a more comprehensive service.

Evening Wedding Reception

My most popular option.

I’ll provide professional sound and lighting, introduce your first dance and take care of the music throughout the evening, adapting it as the party develops.

You can relax, enjoy yourselves and leave the dance floor to me.

Wedding Ceremony Music

If required, I can also provide music for your wedding ceremony, including your entrance, signing of the register and departure as a newly married couple.

We’ll agree everything beforehand so the right piece of music is ready at exactly the right moment.

All-Day Wedding Host & DJ

If you’d prefer somebody to help keep the whole day running smoothly, I can act as your Wedding Host and Master of Ceremonies as well as providing the evening entertainment.

I can make announcements, introduce speeches and key moments, liaise with the venue and help move the day along without turning your wedding into a game show.

The aim is to give the day some structure while keeping everything relaxed, friendly and very much about you.

Professional Sound & Lighting

Yes, the equipment matters.

I use high-quality professional speaker systems and modern lighting suitable for wedding venues of different sizes. Everything is chosen to provide excellent sound and create the right atmosphere without completely taking over the room.

Your wedding isn’t a trade exhibition for DJ equipment.

The equipment should complement the occasion, look smart and professional and, above all, sound great.

Additional lighting and other options can also be discussed if you’re looking for something particular.

First Dance

Some couples know their first dance before they’ve even booked the venue.

Others haven’t got the faintest idea.

Either is absolutely fine.

If you’ve chosen something special, I’ll make sure I have the correct version and that everything is ready for the moment. If you need some inspiration, I’m always happy to offer suggestions.

And if the thought of spending four minutes slowly rotating in front of everyone you know fills you with absolute terror, don’t worry. I’ve seen that before too.

A more comprehensive service covering the daytime celebrations, announcements and hosting through to your evening party.

Once I know your date, venue and requirements, I’ll provide a clear quotation so you know exactly what’s included.
