There are plenty of good reasons to throw a party. A milestone birthday, an engagement, a special anniversary, graduation from university…or simply getting a group of your favourite people together in one room and having a great night.

Whatever the excuse, I can provide the soundtrack!

Based in Essex and working across the Home Counties and further afield, I provide professional DJ entertainment for parties and celebrations of all shapes and sizes.

I’ve been DJing for over 35 years, entertaining everything from small gatherings of family and friends to large-scale events with hundreds of guests. During that time I’ve learned one very important lesson – no two parties are ever quite the same.

A 21st birthday needs a very different approach to a 60th. An engagement party might have three generations on the dance floor, while a Summer Ball could require everything from background music during dinner to a packed dance floor later in the evening.

That variety is exactly what makes the job interesting.

Birthday Parties

18th, 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th…and all the important numbers that follow!

Birthday parties make up a large part of my diary and they’re always great fun. I’m equally comfortable playing current chart, dance and club music for a younger crowd as I am digging into the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s for those of us who can remember buying music when it came on something you could actually hold.

And if your guests cover a wide age range, that’s absolutely fine too. Choosing the right music at the right time is a huge part of what an experienced DJ brings to a party.

Please note that I don’t provide entertainment for young children’s parties, but I’m very happy to cater for teenage celebrations from around 14 upwards.

Engagements & Anniversaries

Whether you’ve just decided to get married or you’re celebrating 10, 25, 40 or 50 years together, an engagement or anniversary party deserves more than somebody plugging a phone into a speaker and hoping Spotify behaves itself!

Tell me about the music you love, the sort of guests you’re inviting and the atmosphere you want to create. I’ll take it from there, combining your favourites with requests on the night and my own experience of reading a dance floor.

Summer Balls, Graduation Parties & Special Events

Not every celebration fits neatly into a box.

I can also provide professional DJ entertainment for Summer Balls, graduation celebrations, retirement and leaving parties, reunions, dinner dances, awards evenings, themed parties, New Year’s Eve celebrations and just about any other occasion where good music and a busy dance floor are required.

I’ve even DJ’d at divorce parties. Apparently there really is an appropriate celebration for everything!

Your Music – With a Little Help From Me

I’m always happy to receive a playlist before your party, but there’s no need to choose every song yourself. In fact, I’d rather you didn’t!

A selection of your favourite tracks, artists and styles gives me a great idea of what makes you tick musically. From there I can mix those choices with guest requests and the right tracks to keep the evening moving.

After more than three decades behind the decks, my music knowledge stretches across the generations – from 60s soul, Motown and classic disco through the 80s and 90s to house, dance, R&B and today’s biggest tracks.

The aim isn’t simply to play a list of songs. It’s to create a party.

Professional Sound, Lighting & Presentation

Every venue is different, so my sound and lighting set-up can be tailored to suit the room and the number of guests.

Whether you’re holding your party in a local function room, hotel, marquee, country house or something considerably larger, I’ll provide a smart, professional set-up with high-quality sound and lighting appropriate to the occasion.

No ridiculous wall of speakers in a tiny room. No couple of flashing lights trying desperately to illuminate a ballroom. Just the right equipment for the job.
