Orsett Hall Hotel…….a luxurious four-star hotel, completely rebuilt in 2009 after a devastating fire…..and my residential DJ home since 1994. Here’s a review of their superb function suites:
The Whitmore Suite
A large room, this can hold up to 120 diners and well over 200 evening guests. Of all the Orsett Hall function suites, this one has the cosiest feel to it, with its dark and stylish curtains and very contemporary light fittings. From a DJ perspective, it’s both very easy to access and a joy to play in. And with all the function rooms at Orsett Hall, there is no restrictive sound-monitoring system in operation. It’s fully air conditioned and its one of Orsett Hall’s most popular suites. It also looks fabulous with our LED up lighting system in situ.
The Gold Room
Probably my personal favourite, the Orsett Hall’s Gold Room is lavishly decorated with large crystal chandeliers, a feature fireplace and even a piano! Again, this room looks awesome with our LED uplighting on the neutral-coloured walls. There is a choice of dancefloor position too (middle or end of the room). A separate room for the evening buffet makes an ideal getaway for those not interested in dancing, whilst the main room is spacious enough for up to 200 evening guests.
The Pavilion
The Orsett Hall Pavilion was built primarily to replace the huge summer marquee in the days of the old hotel building. It can hold around 400 diners and over 700 guests dancing. It has a huge expansive wooden floor from wall to wall, so as a DJ you can pretty much set up anywhere. When feature-lit in the evenings, it resembles a grand ballroom, and being such a large blank canvas, it’s a dream venue for function room decorators and our LED uplighting (again!) It does require a powerful sound system though….some visiting mobile DJs have struggled to fill the room with music and lights.
The Jaguar Bar
Underneath the Pavilion is Orsett Hall’s very own City wine-bar style suite. Very modern, low-ceiling bar/function suite that can hold up to 100 evening guests. Becoming evermore popular for birthdays and engagement parties, this is the perfect venue for those requiring a more intimate and stylish party. The DJ has a small allocated spot at the end of the room, so space is at a premium and large lighting/speaker rigs are really not required here. There has definitely been a noticable increase over the past twelve months of parties in this Orsett Hall function room, it’s style matched by it’s popularity!
Even though the ‘new’ Orsett Hall building is only 4 years old, the owners and staff continue to make improvements, such as the wonderful Garden Restaurant. Tribute Nights, Live Music Nights and themed discos are running throughout the year, so there’s always something happening at Orsett Hall! I am very proud to be a part of this fantastic venue.
